Weblogs occur to be the next censorship target of Chinese Government.They are frequently updated personal
journals on websites,intended for public viewing.
Lately the Government has shut down two sites hosting weblogs in service of a wide range of people.On March 11,
more than
15,000 weblogs were made inaccessible to the wide chinese public on (www.BlogBus.com).The occasion was a posted
letter which criticized the Government.The other site (www.Blogcn.com) was blocked three days later for a similar reason.
As a matter of fact,these severe measures followed the approval of an amendment to chinese constitution concerning
the
authorities' assertion of human rights.
The Paris-based media rights group Reporters Without Borders expresses publicly their strong indignation against
chinese authorities' decision. They consider Government's crackdown as an outrageous act of rejecting
public opinion.
Up till now,a great amount of Internet cafes has been shut to the wide public and Internet sites,
including those of the foreign media,have been shut down for containing political criticism.
