Microsoft demonstrates a revised approach to the SMB market with the release of an updated Small Business Center site.
The new portal constitutes another try of the company to draw the attention of the small-and-midsize markets as an authoritative source
provider for business IT.
The new release follows the company's launch of bCentral portal for small business, dating back to five years ago. It is expected
to have the same CRM functionality as its predecessor including contact management and email campaign functionality as well as
e-commerce and Web hosting. To the convenience of current bCentral customers, their services will not be impeded while the
transition proceeds.
The new portal of Microsoft represents a necessary move contributing to branding consolidation. The company asserts that if
it gains more traction than bCentral, the site will expand its character beyond marketing emphasis, thus reaching more aspects of
business operations.
