DSL.net, Inc.(www.dsl.net), a provider of broadband communications services to businesses, announced that it has launched a new broadband Internet service with speed of up to 45 Mbps for business customers who need a high-bandwidth Internet connection.
The new service, called NETgain 45, is a DS3-based, high-bandwidth, broadband Internet connection. DNS management, routable IP addresses and 24/7 technical support are included in the new service. NETgain 45 is suitable for companies that use high-bandwidth applications or have a virtual private network with connections in multiple locations.
Keith Markley, president and CEO of DSL.net, said that the DS-3 service was a natural progression for DSL.net. He noted that DSL.net had substantially expanded its network reach and increased network capacity as a result of strategic acquisitions during 2003. Markley said that the company introduced a T-1 service two years ago in addition to its core SDSL service and has seen T-1 sales increase significantly during that time. He added that DS-3 service would allow DSL.net to further improve its margin, create a new revenue stream and continue to meet growing bandwidth needs of business customers.
NETgain 45 is available with speeds ranging from 3 Mbps to the maximum DS-3 speed of 45 Mbps. SDSL and T-1 services provide a broadband connection of up to 1.5 Mbps. DSL.net has already provided DS-3s for its wholesale data communications clients during the last year. The NETgain 45 service will be offered in select markets. The new service will expand the range of DS-3 services provided by DSL.net.
