Zend Technologies (www.zend.com), a PHP technology development company, announced on September 29, 2004 that it has introduced its Hosting Partner Program, developed to allow web hosting providers to provide performance improvements to their clients via the Zend Performance Suite. According to Zend, its Turbo PHP service will enable client sites using PHP to raise transaction throughput and serve more users without adding new servers. The company said that its Performance Suite was the only performance management solution created to optimize performance of PHP applications. Zend offers participants in the Zend Hosting Partner Program a management console for administering of end user licenses. According to the company, its program has already been used by hosting providers like Media Temple and SplitInfinity Networks.
Pamela Roussos, vice president of marketing at Zend, said that Zend Performance Suite users continued to report significant return on investment and sometimes up to 25 times increase in performance. She noted that through this program Zend was extending these benefits to a greater number of sites as an integrated part of an offering they received through their hosting providers. Roussos added that by partnering with ISPs, Zend aimed to establish the Zend Performance Suite as the de facto PHP performance management solution, and provide its partners with a new tool to increase their revenues, differentiate themselves in a competitive market and offer the highest level of service to their PHP customers.
