Zazu Internet also know as Rumba (www.rumba.co.za), an Internet service provider based in South Africa announced on October 11, 2004 that it now offered two new web hosting plans, called Host & Dial 150. The company currently provides three new hosting plans starting with Jumpstart, basic web hosting plan for 49 rand a month. Jumpstart has a one-time installation fee of 49 rand and features three e-mail addresses, free web-based e-mail and telephone support. Zazu also offers Entrepreneur and Commerce web hosting plans intended for small businesses with slightly higher requirements. All hosting packages are based on open source platforms. According to the company, while open source was perfect for lower-end hosting, open source and proprietary platforms both had special niche markets and the company was working on designing plans for businesses with higher hosting needs. Zazu anticipates that these plans would be offered by the end of November.
Francois Joubert, spokesman of Zazu Internet, said that the company was in the ISP market, but it had realized that many people were competing aggressively in the hosting area. He added that this was a new area for Zazu Internet, because even though the company did have similar products on offer, people simply were not aware of this.
