The research and analysis firm Netcraft (www.netcraft.com) announced on June 3 that the Web hosting providers Hostway (www.hostway.com) and Energis (www.energis.com) had the most reliable company websites in May. Hostway was the most reliable site for the second consecutive month. Go Daddy (www.godaddy.com), DataPipe (www.datapipe.com) and InetU (www.inetu.net) were the third, fourth and fifth most reliable sites.
Domicile.fr (www.domicile.fr), New York Internet (www.nyi.net) and EV1Servers (www.ev1servers.net) were sixth, seventh and eighth, while Hosting.com (www.hosting.com) and Rackspace Managed Hosting (www.rackspace.com) rounded out the top ten. Five of the top ten sites run on Windows platforms and the other half, including Hostway, run on Linux.
Netcraft measures the response times of fifty leading hosting providers' sites on a monthly basis. The performance measurements are made at fifteen-minute intervals from eight separate points around the Internet and averages are calculated over the immediately preceding 24-hour period.
