The payment solutions provider EuroConex (www.euroconex.com) announced on June 6 that the Web hosting provider Novara.ie (www.novara.ie) has become the first Irish company to implement 3D Secure, its new payment processing service. 3D Secure is an authentication method that allows the merchant to authenticate the cardholder with the issuer and association.
Eoin Costello, managing director of Novara.ie, said that as one of Ireland's largest hosting companies the bulk of Novara.ie’s sales are Web-based, that as a result the attempted use of stolen cards to pay for services is an everyday issue, and that the 3D Secure solution offers Novara.ie the prospect of diminishing fraudulent activity considerably.
