OpSource Inc. (www.opsource.net), an IT infrastructure services company announced on September 28, 2004 that Walden Media, an educational entertainment company, has selected OpSource to deliver a complete set of managed services in support of Walden’s online presence at www.walden.com. According to OpSource, it will supply Walden with a variety of services such as Linux system administration and network and security management, monitoring and performance tuning services, and Oracle database management. OpSource has also created the infrastructure for Walden’s website, which offers, to parents and educators, resources that would enhance the movie-going experience.
Daniel Kim, director of web development at Walden Media, said that OpSource provided the technical talent and best-of-breed processes and procedures, as well as the 24 by 7 responsiveness that was necessary to ensure that Walden’s co-located websites and web-based applications were reliable and secure, at the fraction of the cost it would incur to provide such services itself.
