UnitedLayer LLC (www.unitedlayer.com), an Internet infrastructure company from the San Francisco area, announced on August 13, 2004 that it would use the data center of 365 Main (www.365main.com) in Bay Area to build a regional network. The company will construct a dual redundant dark fiber ring linking 365 Main to its two additional data centers giving United Layer the opportunity to offer Layer 2 VLAN and Layer 3 IP services to all customers of 365 Main.
After the expansion is complete, United Layer will be the only company able to offer Layer 2/3 services between the carrier neutral data centers in the San Francisco Bay Area. The company provides redundant fiber, wireless, and multiple carriers providing a large choice of services to its customers. United Layer will be among other Bay Area businesses at 365 Main such as Brightmail, CNet, Hot or Not, IPNetworks and the Oakland Riders.
