A multi-year agreement has been inked between premier provider of managed web hosting solutions - Rackspace Managed Hosting (online availability at:
www.rackspace.com) and EMI Music North America (EMI), the global pure music company. The fundament of the deal is the Rackspace's task to provide professional support for many of EMI's North American Web sites such as Blue Note, Capitol Records and Virgin Records. This way, the new relationship will provide an efficient management of EMI's web infrastructure.
The newly-struck deal represents a promising symbiosis between two reliable partners. According to the agreement, Rackspace's Intensive Hosting™ division will be the unit in service of the pure music company. It is expected to benefit EMI with a fully-managed hosting solution based on Dell PowerEdge servers running Microsoft Windows complete with multiple firewalls, load balancers and a Dell/EMC storage area network. In addition, Dell Professional Services will bring Web site application analysis and consolidation support, migration planning, and assessment for EMI's implementation of Microsoft.NET Web services architecture. Another key benefit for EMI will be Intensive Hosting's ProActive7™ that will provide EMI with a secure and dependable web presence.
