The data center operator and managed services provider Peak 10 (www.peak10.com) announced on June 6 that it has completed a successful review of its emergency management plan, ensuring that the company will maintain consistency during and after a hurricane or other natural disaster. The review, which was completed on June 1 at all five of Peak 10's data centers, ensured four key areas in the event of a disaster: to provide a secure facility, to ensure each data center is fully monitored and managed 24 hours a day, access to multiple Tier-1 Internet service providers from each Peak 10 data center, and connectivity from facility-to-facility via Peak 10's private OC-n network.
Frank Mobley, vice president of operations at Peak 10, said that to keep the commitments Peak 10 has made to its customers and the availability of their critical data and applications, Peak 10 made a thorough review of its emergency management plan company-wide, that the review proved that Peak 10 is prepared and ready for the 2005 hurricane season, and that Peak 10 urges its clients to take the same precautions and hopes other businesses realize that it's not too late to put a disaster recovery plan in place.
