FortuneCity (www.fortunecity.com), a web hosting provider, announced on July 13, 2004 that its online photo album service MyPhotoAlbum (www.myphotoalbum.com) has been chosen to build the “Official Online Photo Album of the Naked Cowboy”. The Naked Cowboy will advertise FortuneCity’s MyPhotoAlbum service by taking pictures with his fans and putting them in his official online photo album at nakedcowboy.myphotoalbum.com. The Naked Cowboy can be found around 45th and Broadway most afternoons of the week. During the year, he travels to Mardis Gras and other festivities. MyPhotoAlbum was also chosen as the official online photo album for W3G Entertainment Group’s M.E.T.R.O Search recently.
Darren Herman, product manager and marketing specialist for MyPhotoAlbum, said that this was certainly a different type of campaign – a bit different than the traditional advertising mediums that most companies utilized, but that was why FortuneCity loved it. He added that FortuneCity felt that the Naked Cowboy was a perfect endorser of its new service since he was a worldwide photography icon in front of thousands of people each day.
