Liquid Web (www.liquidweb.com), a provider of web hosting and managed services, announced on July 28, 2004 that SBC (www.sbc.com) would provide redundant OC-48 connectivity to Liquid Web’s data center in Lansing, Michigan. The new OC-48 SONET ring to the Liquid Web data center uses level 6 fiber and varied paths connecting to different central offices. In June 2004, Liquid Web added Savvis to its data center and said it would continue to add tier-1 bandwidth providers.
Matthew Hill, CEO of Liquid Web, said that the powerful addition of SBC to Liquid Web’s network would further enhance the company’s already established ability to supply high performance, ultra high availability solutions to clients within its premium data center and network consistently. He added that Liquid Web spent a great deal of time engineering this solution for its network expansion and the company was confident its efforts would allow it to continue raising standards within the industry.
