LCL Telehousing (www.lcl.be), a co-location provider, announced on August 31, 2004 that it has signed a partnership agreement with Amsterdam Internet Exchange (www.ams-ix.net), an independent, non-profit Internet exchange, to provide AMX-IX ports to LCL Telehousinga€™s web hosting and Internet service customers out of its data center in Diegem, Belgium. According to LCL Telehousing, with the partnership the company no longer had to rent space in any of the four AMS-IX facilities in Amsterdam. The company said that its client could now set up peering contacts with AMS-IX members.
Laurens van Reijen of LCL Telehousing said that by offering the possibility of acquiring AMS-IX ports at the LCL data center, the company thinks that it can offer an even better service to its clients. He added that LCL would take care of the data transport to the AMS-IX in Amsterdam.
