DataPipe (www.datapipe.com), an international provider of web hosting services, announced on August 2, 2004 that Trek Bicycles, a bicycle manufacturer, has selected DataPipe’s web hosting services for its website. The traffic to Trek’s website grew to over two million visitors past month, after the company became a sponsor of Lance Armstrong, the sixth consecutive winner of Tour de France. Trek has made an extensive tour of DataPipe’s data center before selecting DataPipe as its hosting provider.
Josh Hover, marketing systems manger for Trek, said that of all the data center tours he had been on, including MCI, Level3 and Time Warner Telecom, he could honestly say that DataPipe’s facility was the most impressive he had been to. He added that the infrastructure redundancy and the security at DataPipe’s data center were top notch.
