XO Communications Inc. (www.xo.com), a data and voice carrier, announced on June 7 that it has appointed Barbara Branaman as vice president and general manager of its hosting business unit. The company also re-introduced its Concentric brand for shared web hosting services.
Branaman has started working at XO Communications in 1998 and held different marketing positions such as group manager for small and medium-sized enterprise (SMEs) hosting and web manager of user experience. She holds an MBA from Thunderbird University.
Branaman will play a leading role in the designing of the strategic marketing and partnership programs necessary to boost Concentric’s market share among small and medium-sized enterprises via novel business-class hosting solutions. The solutions will be targeted at offering SMEs better value through performance and security in an endeavor to completely market and sell Concentric’s solutions online.
Tom Cady, chief marketing officer of XO Communications, said that the company was pleased to promote Branaman to her new role as vice president and general manager of the company’s hosting business unit. He added that as XO Communications embarked on re-launching the Concentric brand, the company expected continued success as Branaman orchestrated the efforts of the engineering, finance, marketing, operations and sales teams to address the hosting needs of today’s growing businesses.
