B2 Networks, a broadband video networks provider, and NaviSite (www.navisite.com), a managed application and web hosting provider, announced last week that B2 Networks hosted the technology it used for an Internet broadcast of a hockey game between Las Vegas Wranglers and the Bakersfield Condors with NaviSite’s I-Service co-location and network infrastructure. The hockey match was broadcast from www.lasvegaswranglers.com.
Greg Bell, CEO of B2 Networks, said that after looking at a number of data centers, the company chose NaviSite-Las Vegas because it felt that they were able to maximize B2 Networks’ performance. He stated that B2 Networks needed a solid reliable data center, in a convenient Las Vegas location that provided great connectivity and the support systems to ensure that the broadcast had continual uptime. Bell noted that this, along with root-rights access, meant that B2 Networks could run its business and broadcast its service to many of its clients in Las Vegas and around the world. He added that the NaviSite’s data center, infrastructure and experienced team were clearly the best choice for B2 Networks.
In addition to the data center in Las Vegas, Nevada, NaviSite manages another 13 carrier-neutral data centers in the United States. David Keasey, vice president of sales for NaviSite, said that the NaviSite-Las Vegas data center was designed and built to host customers like B2 Networks. He stated that NaviSite was able to provide scalable and secure facilities needed by its customers. Keasey added that NaviSite has watched how B2 Networks built its business and created a brand new media service by combining content and video-on demand skills with NaviSite’s commercial grade delivery system.
