Telecommunications carrier Qwest Communications said today that it is providing a backup Web hosting and disaster recovery solution for www.usmint.gov, the United States Mint's e-commerce and information Web site. The company said the backup services add to the suite of managed hosting services it already provides to the US Department of Treasury.
Qwest, which has hosted the United States Mint's Web site for more than two years, said that in the event of an emergency or disaster, it will route all of the Web site's users and information through an alternative location.
