Artlandia, Inc, maker of pattern design software, announced that it has released version 3.0 of SymmetryWorks, an Adobe Illustrator plug-in designed for pattern making and industrial design. SymmetryWorks 3.0 offers support for raster images and clip options for improved image transitions. According to Artlandia, using Symmetry Works 3.0 web and surface designers can create patterns imaginatively, intuitively and in a fraction of the time, it would take with any other software.
The most important feature in SymmetryWorks 3.0 is the complete support for raster images. The plug-in can now make patterns from photographs and scanned paintings, which can be combined with vector graphics or used separately.
SymmetryWorks 3.0 also provides new clip options, which can be used to switch between separate and blended units of repetition and instantly form a seamless pattern even from units that do not otherwise provide a smooth transition from one to another. The new version of the plug-in provides support for feather effects and opacity masks, which can be used to control the amount and depth of transition between neighboring units.
