The Center for Maine Contemporary Art (www.artsmaine.org), a non-profit organization fostering contemporary art in Maine through exhibitions and educational programs, reported the forthcoming launch of a two-day Web design workshop dubbed "The Nuts and Bolts of Web Site Design for Artists." The event will largely give attendees detailed insight into both the theoretical and practical side of Web site development and design.
The soon-to-be held event is going to be hosted by web designer Nancy Spaulding of Webcat Web Design in Belfast, supported by PhotoShop expert Beth Crosby. The first part of the seminar will be exclusively led by Ms Spaulding who will shed professional light on the root oft Web site development, design issues, and the Photoshop creation of images for insertion onto the web site. Introduction of the basic Web terminology and the great variety of resources will be made, as well.
During the second part of the seminar, the lecturer will be assisted by Beth Crosby who will help her draw the main outlines of hands-on design of a virtual Website, on the basis of either MAC or PC. This way, workshop attendees will get the real-time chance to design a full-featured layout, and further on place text and various images.
Being a part of the non-profit's Professional Development Workshop Program, the two-day event is scheduled to take place at the Hutchinson Center in Belfast on Saturday, September 18, from 9 am to 2 pm, and on Sunday, September 19, from noon to 5 pm.
