Artropolis (www.artropolis.com), an award winning Minneapolis web design firm with over 400 sites to its credit, announced on December 13 that it is looking for someone with creativity and technical knowledge to fill a Web designer position. The ideal candidate has a passion for design with some technical experience. The candidate should have a bachelor's degree in design or a related field and at least two years of experience.
The designer will work with various clients on Web design as well as managing e-commerce and general business sites. Clients include the lighting and furnishings retailer Bellacor.com, the network equipment giant Cisco Systems, and Patina, a Minneapolis and St. Paul boutique.
The founders A.J. Meyer and Dave Hobza have talked to a few candidates, but are still searching. The salary starts in the mid-$30 000s for someone with a little experience and goes as high as the upper $50 000s for someone with eight years of experience that includes managing teams.
A.J. Meyer said that it's hard to find someone who uses the left and right side of their brain, and that Artropolis is looking for someone who wants to work for a smaller boutique or someone who has spent time in corporate America and is looking for something a little more laid back and creative.
