The Art Institute of California - San Francisco (http://www.aicasf.aii.edu) has undertaken a community service initiative facing the demands for creative design services of Bay Area nonprofit groups. The design services will be provided free of charge through the school's Community Arts Resource Exchange (C.A.R.E.) program.
The promising initiative is specifically targeted at nonprofits that undergo economic difficulty or strive to launch their programs. Local groups are given the exclusive opportunity to apply for pro-bono graphic design and multimedia services. They are suggested to get assistance in various areas such as logo development, poster and brochure design, flyers, postcards and other marketing collateral material, as well as multimedia and web design projects.
At the functional core of this initiative stand students from the school through the Community Arts Resource Exchange (C.A.R.E.) program which enables them to put into practice their art and design skills in favour of area nonprofits. They have a rich history of performances having worked on various such as San Francisco SPCA, Boys and Girls Club of Oakland, Dining Out for Life, Carnaval San Francisco, City CarShare, Friends of the Urban Forest, Housing Conservation & Development Corp., Communities for a Better Environment and others.
The process of application for creative design services requires that nonprofit groups fill out a C.A.R.E. Project Request Form. The form can be accessed online at www.aicasf.aii.edu/news.asp or requested from Dan Soine, Director of Public Relations, The Art Institute of California - San Francisco, 1170 Market Street, San Francisco, CA 94102, tel. 415-276-1030 or by e-mail at dsoine@aii.edu. All the requests that show compliance with upcoming class projects will be approved of.
