Macromedia announced on March 19, 2004 that its Dreamweaver application was selected to enter the Jolt Product Hall of Fame at the Jolt Product Excellence and Productivity Awards. Furthermore, Macromedia Studio MX 2004 received the award for Best Development Tool. The Jolt Award winners are determined by a team of Software Development magazine editors, columnists and industry experts.
Software Development Jolt Product Excellence and Productivity Awards are given each year to product that have “jolted” the industry with their importance and made software development simpler, quicker and more efficient. Macromedia Dreamweaver was selected to enter the Jolt Product Hall of Fame for its continuing role as the leading visual web development tool.
Alexandra Weber Morales, editor in chief of Software Development magazine, said that the jury felt that it was high time to honor a tool that has become the standard for front-end web design. She added that Macromedia Dreamweaver have paved the way for an entire suit of popular tools that have codified the more esoteric tasks of web development.
Macromedia recently published an updater for Dreamweaver MX 2004 that provides significant performance and stability enhancements over the previous version of the application. Existing users can download the updater from www.macromedia.com/downloads/updates/. New users of Dreamweaver will receive the updated version when they purchase the application. New and existing users of Macromedia applications can save $100 when buying or upgrading to Studio MX 2004 before March 31, 2004.
