Global provider of high-performance 8-bit microprocessors and development tools for embedded control, communications, and Ethernet connectivity - Rabbit
Semiconductor, URL at: www.rabbitsemiconductor.com, is proud to report the ready public availability of its newest kit. The Ethernet Connection Development Kit is targeted at embedded system designers to let them add Ethernet connectivity to new and existing systems.
The newly-released kit provides access to select software modules, as well. The RabbitWeb module, for instance, interprets program variables at a distance, avoiding complex CGI programming. The fast HTTP/HTML web development extension also creates controls on a Web interface, meanwhile providing valid input values and relative user authorization.
Another select module is the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) module providing HTTPS Security for 8-Bit Embedded Devices on the basis of the Rabbit 3000 microprocessor. This module is royalty and license free, incorporating a digital certificate creation utility. It provides rapid processing of complex
encryption algorithms for HTTPS with SSL version 3 and Transport Layer Security version 1.
The other select software module, turning RCM3720 RabbitCor into a hardware platform for securing existing web applications, is The File Allocation Table (FAT) File System module which updates content to the FAT collaborating with the Dynamic C HTTP server. It enables a serial Flash-based file system and supports a battery backed cache system for file system protection in cases of energy breakdown.
The Ethernet Connection Development Kit is in total comprised of an RCM3720 microprocessor core module (512K Flash / 256K SRAM / 1MB Serial Flash), serial cable for programming and debugging, Dynamic C development system and complete CD-ROM documentation, Getting Started manual, and AC adapter, thus being presently offered for US$199. Customers can as well make use of the select software modules, $159 being the lowest price level.
