Substantiating its customer-oriented commitment of its product policy, Quark (http://www.quark.com)
is launching the latest update to its most widely-used professional page layout
software worldwide - QuarkXPress. Through the release of QuarkXPress 6.5, the company is looking forward to further fortifying the leading value of the desktop publishing software, adding more creative power, robustness and reliability to its set of features.
The new QuarkXPress 6.5 represents a very useful follow-up to the existing prominent application, providing users with enhanced capabilities for
achieving more efficient graphics, text, and color management, as well as print power growth. The solution has been enriched with many more innovative
features that highly contribute to its continuing functionality increase. The Mac OS X-only features such as QuarkVista, an XTensions module for image
manipulation, enable Mac users to create valuable design for both print and electronic media.
The new QuarkXPress 6.5 now provides support for native Photoshop files, enabling users to import native Adobe Photoshop documents (PSD files) into the
software and use the power of multi-layer Photoshop images within the QuarkXPress environment. Users are also given the ability to handle the image layers and modify opacities and blend methods, as well as chose clipping paths and define channels as spot colors.
The upgrade package also provides users with useful access to software and tools from Quark partners. Thus, users can take advantage of Linotype fonts for
project use, as well as a font bundle for $1,000, downloadable for free. Other helpful joint features are the set of design templates by Stock Layouts, as
well as the Creo Tokens software demonstration versions and Insider Font Agent Pro.
QuarkXPress 6.5 will feature an upgrade to QuarkXClusive, an XTensions module that empowers Mac OS X to handle variable data publishing capabilities. The
solution will be available in a month via the company's website, or on CD-ROM via contacting customer service. Registered users are promised to get a free
update. The PSD Import XTensions module and the updated version of QuarkXClusive will be available for download at no charge right after the QuarkXPress 6.5 launch.
