QPS Classic 3 is now ready to meet the ever-changing needs of Quark's growing customer base. The new solution represents the latest version of the Quark Publishing System for managing publishing and editorial workflows. For developing the powerful desktop publishing platform, Quark (www.quark.com), has worked with Apple to ensure a smooth migration to Mac OS X, and a certified QuarkDispatch server on Apple's Xserve G5.
QPS Classic 3 has to offer a lot to customers. They are given the opportunity to concurrently work on various elements of a QuarkXPress print or Web layout such as content and page design elements. The new version enable the distribution of page creation and production to editorial, design, Web, and production users. The flexibility of the status-based workflow and routing capabilities provided by QPS Classic 3 enables their easy adaptation to different publishing environments.
The collaboration between Quark and Apple on the new version development has produced very rewarding results. Owing to newly-added key features, the transition for Quark's customers has been simplified a lot with efficacy increased. Users are given the ability to check in QPS 1 and QPS 2 configuration files to QuarkDispatch 3, and to replicate files from QuarkDispatch 2.2 to QuarkDispatch 3, slong with the flexibility to deploy on Xserve G5s.
