Adobe Systems keeps on applying its strategy of facing the ever-evolving needs of Web designers through the release of a new 3D graphics program. Atmosphere is expected to let graphics professionals create 3D environments that excel the conventional 2D Web graphic in interactivity and appearance. The new program makes the development cycle shorter than a game producing good-looking web content.
The new solution release represents a truly innovative move for Adobe Systems given 3D creation encounters many difficulties while getting its way on the web. Through Atmosphere 3D environments are put together much easier than the complex visual schemes utilized by computer games and other common 3D applications. The program can be easily applied by users of Adobe's 2D graphics program - Illustrator. They will need just a few hours to catch the "knack" of Atmosphere.
The new 3D graphics program is comprised of a set of design tools for creating 3D Web images. It incorporates elements such as a "physics engine," that determines how an object moves in and reacts with its environment. The program is complemented by the Atmosphere Player for viewing images. The latter is offered free of charge as part of a Web page or in an offline document saved in Adobe's widespread portable document format (PDF).
The current Atmosphere works only with Microsoft's Windows operating system and Internet Explorer browser. According to Bahman Dara, senior product manager for Adobe, the company is pondering over the idea of support for Apple Computer's Mac operating system in future versions of Atmosphere Player, but the actual implementation will depend on the audience size.
Atmosphere 3D graphics program is immediately available along with the free download of Atmosphere Player from Adobe. Its beta version has already been utilized by numerous enterprises who created tools such as an interactive seating chart for a concert venue and a virtual museum tour.
