In its ambition to considerably enhance the self-invented remarkable Flex, Macromedia plans to introduce the latest uptade to the server software for adding slick interfaces to Web applications. Flex's version 1.5 is scheduled for release next month.
Due to Flex's innovative power, web application developers are given the recommendable environment to create a much richer UI on the basis of a text editor. Its support for custom components creation allows the effective cooperation between design and development professionals. This collaborative work is expressed in the creation of a custom Flash widget by design professionals that is then incorporated in a Web application by development experts.
Designed to enable Java developers and other non-Flash professionals to create XML code for the Flash client software, working in a comfortable text-based
environment, Flash now offers considerably enhanced capabilities that broaden its basis for Web applications delivery. The new upate to the software now
provides support for additional server environments, such as: Oracle Application Server 10g, IBM's AIX Unix and Fujitsu Interstage 6.
Offering the design elements as separate ones in the package, the new version also enables the off-the web browser running of applications via Macromedia's
in-development Central project. This is how a framework for free-standing Flash applications is developed.
