The latest version of KDE Project's desktop user interface for Linux distributions has been released by the company. Through version 3.3, KDE desktop reappears on the web scene to offer a great deal of new applications and numerous usability enhancements. The solution features some desktop components as well.
The new KDE desktop v.3.3 now incorporates numerous new applications such as: KThemeManager, a control centre module for global management of KDE visual themes; KSpell2, a spell-checker library for fixing shortcomings in the previous Kspell tool; Kolourpain - a new paint program; Kimagemapeditor and Klinkstatus for providing useful web design functions.
In order to reach a higher level of usability, KDE Project has made multiple enhancements to various existing KDE applications. In this sense, Konqueror has been complemented with a search bar and scrollwheel to switch between tabbed views, its web browser and file manager application has improved support for messaging; the Kmail application now has anti-spam and antivirus wizards, automatic capabilities to handle mailing lists, and improved support for cryptography.
