Globally-known provider of first-class digital imaging, design and document technology platforms for consumers, creative professionals and enterprises -
Adobe Systems Incorporated, URL at: www.adobe.com, has updated its Camera Raw Plug-in that is now downloadable free from the company's web site. The enhanced
solution scales up the raw file support in Photoshop(R) CS and allows Photoshop CS to manage files in the new .DNG format.
The newly-announced extension will certainly add another innovative dimension to Adobe's policy towards increasing the popularity of raw files' importance
for professional photographers. Having been integrated directly into digital imaging workflows by Adobe, the raw files are now given extended support in
Photoshop(R) CS to over 65 digital camera models. This provides new support for the latest digital cameras from premier manufacturers, such as Canon, Epson,
Fujifilm, and Nikon.
Adobe's update to the Camera Raw Plug-in is accompanied by the Adobe DNG Converter - a free software tool that translates the raw formats supported by
Photoshop CS and the Camera Raw Plug-in into the new .DNG file format. The addition of .DNG support enables Photoshop CS users to work with files created
with the new DNG Converter, thus archiving their files in a single unified file format.
The new Camera Raw 2.3 Plug-in is available to Photoshop CS customers who run Mac OS X 10.2.4 and higher, Microsoft(R) Windows(R) 2000 with Service Pack 3,
and Windows XP. It can be obtained instantaneously through download from the Adobe's web site at zero cost.
