4-H, an active youth organization that concentrates on developing leadership, citizenship and life skills with regard to teenagers, announced the names of the members of its new Web team that will work on the 4-HUSA.org Web site in the area of web design. One of these names is Jared Pickens, 16, of Hermitage.
The new site will feature interactive elements such as message boards, blogs and e-mail addresses. Its main function will be to present all the 4-H youth programs to visitors. Through the new site, the organization will effectively coordinate activities for young people in its university-based 4-H programs.
The new team is comprised of young teenagers who have demonstrated talent in web designing, management and public relations. Jared Pickens, in particular, has a five-year membership in 4-H behind his back and has a major contribution to the development of the Web site for his local program.
