Wotbox (www.wotbox.com), an independent search engine mainly known for its advanced geo-targeting technology, and for displaying a flag of the country of origin next to each result on its search pages, announced on September 2 the launch of 8 new local search sites – Wotbox.com.au (Australia), Ca.wotbox.com (Canada), Fr.wotbox.com (France), Wotbox.de (Germany), Wotbox.it (Italy), Wotbox.co.nz (New Zealand), Es.wotbox.com (Spain) and Wotbox.us (United States).
This brings the total number of Wotbox sites to 10 including the main international site (www.wotbox.com) and the United Kingdom local version (www.wotbox.co.uk) that is already proving very popular with British users. More localized Wotboxes will also be available soon.
Director Mike Nott said that Wotbox is trying to give international users more choice by providing another local search option for them, and that Wotbox also wanted the interface for non-English sites to be in the native language, making it easier for local users.
