Viewpoint Corporation (www.viewpoint.com) announced on October 6 an agreement with Avon Foundation (www.avonbreastcare.org) to create a custom search toolbar that promotes the Avon Foundation Breast Cancer Crusade and distribute it via the Avon website, http://searchingforacause.com.
The Avon Foundation-skilled toolbar enables users to deliver messages directly to users through a tray on the toolbar, connect with Avon affiliate programs through buttons within the toolbar and search for information on the Web.
Jay Amato, chief executive officer and president of Viewpoint, said that there is no better use of Viewpoint’s advanced toolbar technology than delivering information that can help save lives, and that Viewpoint’s toolbar will allow the Avon Foundation to keep a constant reminder on hundreds of thousands of members' desktops and will deliver up-to-the-minute updates about fundraising and awareness programs such as Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The Viewpoint-Avon Foundation partnership shows the increase of marketing campaigns based on search browsers and Web toolbars. Yahoo recently launched a redesign of its start pages and Amazon.com has entered the Internet browser foray with their A9.com search engine.
