California-based Priceshark.com (www.priceshark.com), the competitive edge that is giving Google a run for one’s money, announced on September 14 that it has developed a robust search engine with which online shoppers can now locate items within seconds and compare prices from hundreds of merchants with just a few clicks, thus saving both time and money. With Google success to offer instant and relevant information on any topic, Priceshark.com is combining price comparison and the latest search engine technology.
Previously, Priceshark.com charged advertisers by the number of ads they posted per month. After careful evaluation of the online ad market Priceshark.com switched to CPC (Cost-per-Click), with which advertisers pay only when a user clicks on their ad. Depending on product categories, a merchant can expect to pay between 19 to 89 cents per click. Yahoo store merchants can even download their entire store within seconds, making it easier to list their products on the Priceshark.com website.
Mohammad Matar, founder of Priceshark.com, stated that he believes a lot of people will start going directly to price comparison engines and bypassing online stores, for what they can get at a price comparison engine, there will be no need to go to just one store.
