According to a recent survey conducted by Microsoft, self-searches are the most popular search engine task. 40 percent of all search engine users have searched for themselves in the search engines to find out what the world can learn about them, followed by queries for friends and family and old boyfriends and girlfriends.
The research also found that people in Los Angeles most often look for entertainment news, while New Yorkers want financial information, and that men want to know about cars, science and tech, while women hunt for celebrity news, health and fashion information.
