123Bharath.com (www.123bharath.com) announced on October 13 that the search engine giant Google (www.google.com) is working on speech and multimedia content search in a bid to maintain its supremacy as the largest Internet search engine with universal access. Google's co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin told the reporters at the company's new research and development center in India on October 13 that text search will, however, continue to dominate Internet for a long time to come.
Larry Page said that Google is working on speech, image, graphics and multimedia content search though he and Brin believe text will remain dominant for many years as a key medium, that there is a huge demand for text-based search as it continues to be a strong medium of communication, and that Google appreciates its dominance as it enables anyone to read and write easily.
On the launch of Google mail service Gmail offering 1 GB space, Page said it is presently being offered on invitation and will be made available to more users once additional features are added in the near future.
