A new search toolbar, Firefox Toolbar, has been launched, which, unlike most Internet Explorer only toolbars, is for the users of the alternate open source browser Firefox and Mozilla. Firefox Toolbar (www.firefoxtoolbar.com), is a set of free toolbars made by a company called Vpop Technologies (www.vpop.net), whose first product, UltraBar, had the features of Google Toolbar but with added usability for the users as it let them add their own custom search engines, which Google Toolbar did not allow.
Firefox does have its own search box but does not have other Google specific options like the PageRank toolbar, popup blocker, Form Autofill and folder navigation buttons. Firefox does offer, though, many preconfigured search engines like MSN, Yahoo, AltaVista, Technorati, Bloglines and many more, as well as a set of customized toolbars for the users of Blogger.com, LiveJournal and TypePad, which means that users can skip the default toolbar and choose one of the versions customized for these tools.
