Nominet UK (www.nominet.org.uk), the .uk domain name registry, announced on May 11 the appointment of Bob Gilbert as Chairman of the company. He replaces Willie Black, the founder of Nominet, who left the company in December 2004. Bob Gilbert was a company law specialist and Deputy Senior Partner of Wragge & Co, a Midlands-based law firm. He remains a consultant to the company, continuing to hold a number of non-executive Chairmanships of publicly quoted companies as well.
