Politics.co.uk (www.politics.co.uk) announced on January 12 that the website of a Welsh Conservative party branch (www.delynconservatives.com) has been hijacked and loaded with hardcore pornography. Local party activists in Delyn, Flintshire, were shocked to find adverts for Japanese and Western explicit adult pornography posted on the site of their old domain name, which users were still linked to for local news and information.
It appears that the local party forgot to renew their internet domain registration. However, they are now in the process of buying back their home page. But, as of January 12 visitors to the site were still confronted with explicit images. The Delyn Conservative Association secretary Gwadys Jones said that the problem would be sorted out, that the association is buying the name back and that everything will be back to normal. The association has asked police to launch a probe to ascertain who was behind the hijack and take action over the "deplorable" pictures.
